He is referred to as the man who revolutionized music education in Nigeria. He is an internationally recognized music educator, experienced music director, songwriter, producer and renowned music business entrepreneur. He runs Nigeria’s best spread and most patronized music college (Tenstrings Music Institute), with several study centres spread across the country. He was a member of panel of judges at the World Music Festival, Norway 2005. He is a recipient of the Century International Quality Era Award (Switzerland 2013). Akapo is also the founder and convener of the Annual Nigeria Music Conference (NMC), which has held for six consecutive years.
